Judging a situation as safe or risky is easier when we are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. In case you’ve ever wondered what the cost of a DWI really is, check out this video that proceeds through the life and times of someone who has just received their first DWI.
What person deliberately wants to learn a lesson the hard way?
According to survey results from the Traffic Research Foundation, respondents drove while under the influence because they:
- thought they were okay to drive (47%)
- didn’t have far to go (12.6%)
- thought they could drive carefully (10.9%)
Drug and/or alcohol consumption affects our judgment and leads to poor decisions as a result.
